Global Payments Team Member (12 month FTC)
The Global Payments Team Member is part of the Payment Services Team within the Operational Finance department, with responsibility for dealing with payment related queries received into the Team from other areas of the business or directly from customers, ensuring failed bank payments are appropriately recorded and dealt with in Swan (internal system), and to liaise with Bupa Global’s banks as required to facilitate customer payments.
- Responsible for resolving all accounts payable, commission and payment queries in a pro-active manner aiming to deliver first time resolution.
- Responsible for the accurate and complete closure of all accounting entries and reconciliation requirements.
- Investigate and resolve the underlying causes of failed payments in accordance with agreed processes, to ensure, where appropriate, payments are successfully re-issued within target timings.
- Support our Global business units with advice on all payment related issues and/or direct them supportively to the correct team/department.
- Responsible for the assessment of all payments released in line with regulatory and compliance guidance.
- Identify opportunities, whether system based, process based or performance based to reduce the number of failed payments and/or the level of customer payment enquiries.
- Where required support other parts of operational finance as required to provide optimum service as a department to our internal and external customers
The Ideal Candidate
Appropriate level of experience in a payment services or similar function, ideally within the insurance industry.
A track record of achieving and exceeding targeted business results/KPIs, including achievement and evidence of high volume transactional work.
Experience of dealing directly with customers and communicating to them in a clear, concise and professional manner.
Track record of achieving and exceeding targeted objectives.
Full or part qualified in a recognised financial qualification preferred but not essential
